Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, a pioneer in Indian Education system, always believed that “Shikshan hey vaghiniche dudh aahe!”. And this message empowered the entire society. Visionaries like Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj and Mahatma Jyotiba Phule always emphasized the importance of education, and they brought the neglected class into the mainstream of education system. Following the footsteps of such great leaders is one thing, but to maintain their legacy is epitome of human service. Late Shri. Dadasaheb Gawai and our Respected Aaisaheb Dr. Kamaltai Gawai’s inspiring work transformed the overlooked class of society into an empowered one. Shri. Dadasaheb Gawai Charitable Trust was founded with a vision and mission to impart education to the students of economically backward, oppressed class and students living in remote areas.

Today, Shri. Dadasaheb Gawai Charitable Trust has become a corner stone of education in Vidharbha. The Trust offers a myriad of courses through its various educational institutes in Vidarbha region with courses available even in meditation. The Trust has laid a foundation for the overall development of an individual. The progressive thoughts of Late Shri. Dadasaheb Gawai have been well inculcated in the form of this Trust by our respected Aaie saheb Dr. Kamaltai Gawai. Her blessings and love is a driving force for every individual of this esteemed Trust.

Education shouldn’t be a privilege but a basic right for every individual. And with this thought, Shri. Dadasaheb Gawai Charitable Trust has taken under its wings thousands of students like an ever growing Banyan tree spreading the roots of education and providing its cool shadow to the needy ones. The Trust finds itself in the abled hands of a visionary and dexterous personality, Hon’ble Mrs. Kirtitai Rajesh Arjun. As a Chairman, she has taken this Trust to new heights through her dedication, hard-work and resilience. The Trust commands respect across the entire region of Vidarbha.

Takshashila Mahavidyalay, Amravati was established on 20 th June 1984. The institution has completed 40 years and moving ahead strongly on its path to progress and development. The institution offers education to Junior college, Graduation in Arts, Commerce, Post-Graduate courses in 8 subjects. B.B.A., B.C.A., and B.J.M.C. are also offered. Apart from this, college is affiliated with Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik for B.Com. M.A. (English), M.A. (Marathi), M.A. (Economics) and M.B.A. The institution is accredited by N.A.A.C., Bangalore at ‘B+’ level with CGPA 2.64. Affiliated with Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, the institution is granted with U.G.C Network Centre, Human Rights Education Certification Program, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar research centre, Career Counselling Centre, Certificate in Communication Skills, Certificate in Translation Proficiency and many more programs that are aimed at enhancing student’s skills.
