- Takshashila Mahavidyalya , Amravati is established in the year 20 June 1984
- The Department of Computer Science is one of the earliest Computer Science departments established in the Vidarbha region. Founded in 2008-09, the department was created to address the demand for well-qualified computer professionals.
- It offers undergraduate courses in Computer Science, focusing on both theoretical aspects and software/application development.
- In 2008-09, recognizing the growing need for software industry professionals, the department added a Bachelor of Computer Applications subject at the degree level.
- In 2008-09, the department introduced the B.C.A. program. The department provides separate laboratory facilities for undergraduate courses, with modern equipment and a well-connected local area network.
- The department features a dedicated hardware laboratory for assembly language programming, equipped with microprocessor trainer kits and interfacing devices. The faculty is highly qualified and committed to student development.
