Takshashila Mahavidyalya , Amravati is established in the year 20 June 1984The Department of Computer Science is one of the earliest Computer Science departments established in the Vidarbha region. Founded in 2016, the department was created to address the demand for well-qualified computer professionals. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Computer Science, focusing on both theoretical aspects and software/application development.

Initially, the department introduced a three-year degree program with Computer Science as one of the major subjects, alongside Chemistry , Physics, and Mathematics.

The postgraduate course, M.Sc. in Computer Science , was launched in 2022 and is known for its unique curriculum. The faculty is highly qualified and committed to student development.

It also provides internship opportunities for final-year students to work on projects. The department ensures that program objectives are consistently met and learning outcomes are assessed through periodic tests and assignments. The department takes pride in its alumni who hold key positions in various fields.
